How does she know when you hide a cigarette from her during the early college days.
How does she guess the girlfriend in your life.
How does she know what you will eat at a particular hour.
How does she know when you have had a bad day at work.
How does she protect you from the anger of your Father.
How does she protect you from all those that wrong you.
How does she know who is bad or good company.
How does she be the only one that keeps awake for you, no matter what time
you return.
How does she become the only one that gives patient hearing and then solace.
How does she always have an encouraging word to give you.
How does she be the one that reprimands you and yet be the one that suffers more.
How does she fulfill all your material demands, even when there is paucity and meagre resource
and above all else how does she cook the best and most delicious food in the world.

कैसे उसे ज्ञात हो जाता जब सिगरेट छुपा रहा होता उससे मै
या कैसे उसे पता चल जाता कोई नई मित्र-कन्या का जीवन में आना
या फिर खाने में क्या मुझको भाता किसी पहर हो खाना
कैसे बुरा काम पर दिन गुजरा यह भी उसे पता चल जाता
पिता के गुस्से से मुझे बचाना होगा कैसे उसे ज्ञात था
यही नही, दुनिया के हर गलत वार से मुझे बचाना भी था आता
कैसे जान सकी थी मां कि किसकी संगत किस रंग की किस ढंग की है
रात अकेले जगना ही क्यों न पड़ जाये, पर राह देखती बैठी ही वह रहती
कैसे वही अकेली सब कुछ सुन लेती फिर ढाढ़स देती
सदा कहां से शब्द प्यार विश्वास बढ़ाते कहां से लाती
कैसे पहले मुझे डांटंती फिर मन में क्यों खुद पछताती
घर में कितनी भी कैसी भी बाधायें हों फिर भी मेरे सारे सुख सपने सहलाती
और नही पता चलता कैसे दुनिया के सबसे उत्तम स्वादिष्ट पकवान पकाती ।

I do not have my copy of Kabhi-Kabhi the vcd or DD, the VCD I had was taken by Nitin or was it Rajyashree.. I have no regrets.. I shall buy the DVD today evening for viewing it tomorrow on your birthday.. that is how I would love to celebrate your birthday..
