एक कहावत है खरबूजे को देख कर खरबूजा रंग बदलता है, आपको अपने सामने पाकर जिस खरबूजे का रंग विशेष रूप से उभर कर सामने आता है उसका इंसानी नाम राजू श्रीवास्तव है, चाहे वो पैंट पहने हो या निक्कर या फिर मात्र तौलिया ही लपेटे-लपेटे कन्फ़ैशन रूम में पेश हों, इस शो में अगर आपके बाद किसी अन्य शख्स का नाम कुछ मायने रखत्ता है तो इसमें शक नही कि वह नाम हंसी के इस जादूगर का ही हो सकता है, शायद मेरे अतिरिक्त सभी दर्शक चाहते ही नही पर जानते भी होंगें कि इस प्रोग्राम का विजेता पहले ही तय हो चुका है, राजू बाकी सदस्यो से मीलों आगे है, उनकी कहानी कुछ कुछ सत्तर के दशक में आपकी सफलता जैसी है पहले तीन स्थान पर आप रहते थे बाद में कोई अन्य, मेरी बिग बॉस विजेता की फेहरिस्त में पहले तीन स्थान राजू श्रीवास्तव को जाते हैं यह अलग बात है कि किसी अन्य कारणों से अगर उन्हे यह प्रोग्राम छॊड़कर जाना पड़ा तो कह नही सकता कि विजय क सेहरा किस के सिर पर बंधे ।

हां, मै यह अवश्य कह सकता हूं कि किन किन लोगों का जल्दी ही घर के बाहर कदम पड़ने वाले है – मेरे हिसाब से अगले तीन हफ़्तों में जिन तीन लोगों का नमांकन होने की अधिक उम्मीद है उनमें अदिति, रोहित तथा विन्दु के नाम हो सकते है, यहां मेरा यह तात्पर्य कतई नही है कि ऎसा हर हाल में होना ही होना है, मेरे पास ना तो कोई चिट्ठी वांचने वाला तोता ही है, ना ही मझे कोई कुंडली ज्ञान है और हाथ देखने का सिलसिला मैने आज से पंदरह बरस पहले ही छोड़ रखा है ( कोई भी भाई अपने ही बड़े सगे भाई का हाथ देखकर उसकी हत्या की भविष्यवाणी करे और उसकी भविष्यवाणी आखिर सत्य साबित हो जाये और कर भी क्या सकता है मेरे पास और कोई चारा ही नही बचता) । खैर छॊड़िये अगाये-बगाये आलोक दा को मै यूं ही याद कर- करके उनके साथ नाइंसाफी नही कर रहा तो क्या कर रहा हूं ।

मेरा जल्द ही प्रयास रहेगा कि हम लोग अलादीन से मिल आयें, कुछ एक इच्छायें उसके सामने रख सकें, वैसे अपने लिये मुझे कुछ भी नही मांगना है, जीनी से इतनी ही प्रार्थना है कि विश्व में सदियों शांति और भाईचारे का आलम बना रहे, आप से यह अनुरोध सदा हि रहेगा कि आप परमाणु अस्त्र-शस्त्रों से दुनिया को निजात दिलाने में कोई ना कोई भूमिका अपने लिये अवश्य ही सुनिश्चित कर लें । हां एक बात और मै आप पर इस तरह का कोई भी कार्य थोपना नही चाहता जो आपको सहर्ष स्वीकार्य न हॊ, अगर आप समझते है कि दुनिया का विकास परमाणु बमों में ही निहित है मै अपने अनुरोध की अस्वीकति को अन्याय का नाम कतई नही दूंगा । आपको क्या करना है और क्या नही यह आप से बेहतर कोई कैसे जान सकता है । मै शून्य में विलीन प्राणी कैसे आपसे हठ कर सकता हूं मै कोई बच्चा नही कि अगर आप मुझे मेरी पसंद का खिलौना लेकर ना दें तो मैं आपसे रूठ कर मुंह फेर कर बैठ जाउं । आपसे प्यार करता हूं, आपकी क्षमता पर मुझे विश्वास है साथ ही यह भी जानता हूं कि आप इस दिशा में सीधे हस्तक्षेप ना भी करें तब भी आपकी इस विषय में क्या राय है यही जान लेने में मेरी बात रह जायेगी।

आपका अधिक समय न लेते हुये तथा यह बताते हुए कि आपकी उपस्थिति से बिग बॉस की शोभा में चार चांद लग जाते है क्या आप मेरी बात मानते हुए निर्माता से कह कर एकाध दिन अपने लिये बिग बॉस के यहा नही बढवा सकते । मगर मै जानता हूं कि मेरे ऎसा कहने का कोई व्यक्तिगत उद्देश्य नही है ।

Great to learn that you comoplete 67 years of your existence on this earth and 40 years in the Hindi film industry might just well be some of the best years of the industry..


Tonight I submit a translation of what you wrote on 14th Frbruary and I did translate that into Hindi and you commented back highly positively about my small contribution..



That was the day when I realised that you i ndeed are a bigger human being than what we treat you as a superstar of the biggest film industry of India.. the Hindi film industry..


You gave a new meaning to acting in the film Deewar.. your action oriented fil Sholay is probably one of the best ever Hindi film made so far.. your talent in Black was worth an oscar.. yet since it was not an original idea.. the story was an adaptation of some foreign film.. it is all right.. what I really wanted to say was that you have had many internationally acclaimed films against your name.. as Renate was telling the other day.. The Nobel could be given to maximum of three people in a field.. one among the list for Chemistry this year was of Indian origin.. the one who got nobel for peace did not expect it to come to him.. yet Venkatraman Ramakrishnan and Barack Obama thoroughly deserve the accolades.. some may doubt how Obama could get the award with some 9 month in office.. there may e some validity in their arguments.. yet I am convinced someone who could even think of freeing the world of Nuclear Weapon when stationed at such a high post in itself worth a great applause and need to be supported from the core of our hearts..


Coming back to your birthday.. I personally do not attach much meanings to these days.. I like the philosohy of Pran Sahab in Zanjeer.. biraadar jab doston se milane ka man kiya to saal girah mana liya.. that every day inlife is as important as one's birthday.. every passing moment a milestone of life.. a moment where we all must realise how did we spend our time on this earth..


You brother.. have outlived what was expected of you not only by us but even from what you might have expected as a target when your first film Saat Hindustaani got released.. the journey forward was one of the most tedious to begin with.. I know some of it as I had interest in you even in your failure.. the reason was Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan.. the creator of Madhushala.. somedays back I had submitted Rach do ab nai Madhushala over here.. I don't know if you got to read it or not.. it does not make a difference..


Tonight I wish that you are able to exceed further beyond our expectations.. today I also wish that you set up an example of a role in the real life.. the role I wish not necessarily socio-politcally motivated yet having a great impact on the society as a whole.. You got to play a brother who exemplifies brotherhood.. I don't know whether my english abilities make my expectations acceptable to you..

Best wishes for the forthcoming year of your life.. the 68th would start soon.. I wish you more success as human being than merely as an actor.. I say this for I have seen that the human inside your body is as great as the actor that we have seen in these last four decades..

How does she know when you hide a cigarette from her during the early college days.
How does she guess the girlfriend in your life.

How does she protect you from the anger of your Father.
How does she protect you from all those that wrong you.
How does she know who is bad or good company.

You have done considerably well within the given constraints.. the constraints of Television show making in India..

I would say that you despite your age are still have that appeal.. the presentation part was good too.. Amby Valley and the kind of getups and setups shown do not represent what the western world probably would have liked to see in a Salaam Bombay or the SM.. it is all right.. such kind of extravagance on either side the rich or the poor does not represent us..

Yet again.. I have n business to say what I am going to say about the program's concept.. yet if Abhaya Sharma does not pour his mind out he doe snot remain abhaya sharma anymore..

First of all.. let me congratulate you on the inaugural episode of the Big Boss.. I was not aware or rather still not quite aware of how the program proceeds from here on.. I only hope that it has substantial section of it focused around you.. if it is going to be like a jhaunk in the daal.. I would not be interested.. I would be more interested in a program where you are actively involved than a passive involvement.. it does give me a feeling that your role here in the program is going to be lot more passive than active.. yet I may be wrong.. as I said I have no idea even after the show begun sometime back.. and entrants or participants already in the house..

What I can say of the people who have been selected.. I am sure you being an actor and not the producer would not have had much choice as to who is picked or who is left except maybe in one or two cases..

Let me be honest with the participants list.. let me first talk of objections.. let me just say a few words before I go on to cover some finer aspects of the show..

The first thing I did not like that a pair of husband and wife has been selected.. in such a huge India two persons get in from the same family and that too with a 2 and half year old son.. there definitely is some thing unrealistic about it.. I could not digest that..

The second most important drawback is the omission of a cricketer from the list.. Indians love cricket as much as Cinema and Television maybe a little more than the latter.. in fact TV has earned substantial revenue from cricket especially after the IPL.. non-representation of cricket is simply not acceptable.. not to me but to India as a whole..

There could have been one of the top class cricketer from past or even present who could have been inducted.. Ajay Jadeja was controversial.. all right.. so was Azhar who is now an MP.. Kambli already made some scary stories in Sach Ka saamana.. why could we not have had one of the Mohinder Amarnath or Gundappa Visawanth or even Syed Kirmani.. If Jaya sawant could get a nod.. one slot for a senior cricketer might not have appeared to spoil the balance..

Now coming back to the positives.. the show if it is going to be real.. does have some good people from different section of the society.. not so different though.. Let me put my liking in some order it may not be the final standing.. it may not represent my knowledge of them.. it may also not mean any attachments to them..

The most positive figure I found on the show was that of Aditi Govitrikar.. she is probably the most unknown face to me.. and I do feel that Shamita Shetty.. of whom Amrit told that she was in that your & SRK movie in which SRK plays violin.. if it was you Shamita I must say that you did act well there.. sorry for not placing you immediately.. yes Mohabbatein was a good comeback movie for you brother after KBC’s success.. or was it at the same time.. whatever.. it is one of your very good movies and the three boys and the three girls did quite well.. So she is my second best bet for a finalist..

There was a time when Poonam Dhillon was the most beautiful face in the Indian silver screen and it was in Trishul that I first saw her.. she looked beautiful then and she looks beautiful even now.. who says age has got a role with the beauty.. the face and expression are more important in making one more of how one appears.. no wonder than Claudia Ciesla gave you full marks for being beautiful.. I mean attractive.. you definitely would not make a pair opposite her at this age.. and if you do who can stop you..

She was the best part of the presentation of opening ceremony.. my full marks to her skills with Indian dances and she was full of positive energy.. I would not mind learning German.. no, no, I don't have to approach her.. I have Carla and Renate to look upto.. She according to me is the third best one place ahead of Poonam Dhillon - the Noorie girl.. I do not know any among the men you have got there except that I did see the trailer shots of Deshdrohi on TV.. I am extremely sorry I had not heard anything of the Ismail Darbar.. I must add here that though I enjoy the music but I have not known much of the yesteryears music directors either.. and Ismail bhaai should not take it to his heart..

Bakhtiyaar.. I would say that you definitely are totally unknown to me.. and it is different that I did make that comment on husband wife.. pair being picked.. nothing specifically against you and Tanaz.. I was not knowing her name though she is almost omnipresent on TV and films.. yet she is a good actor..

Vindu Dara Singh.. I do not know.. if he has a celebrity status of his own or not.. not that I am aware of.. yet I would not mind him getting a nod for representing Dara Singh.. a man who has given India and Indian films a great many moments.. If I am not wrong he played the character of Hanuman in quite some films and also in the epic Ramayan serial.. and Hanuman is very dear to India and Indians.. I wish to know more of Vindu as the show progresses..

Sherlyn Chopra.. I heard this name for the first time on this blog from Anashwar Chpra sahab.. quite a few of his people are in.. if some of them have been left out as well.. Loveleen Mishra for one.. and Baba Ramdev for another.. Baba Ramdev does not fit into scheme of things of this kind of program.. he is far too above this kind of entertainment oriented programs.. he should continue what he does best.. teaching and practicing Yoga to the India and Indians through Television and otherwise.. He has a status equivalent to you bhaai.. how could he be supervised by you..

Coming back to the only member left from discussion.. Jaya Sawant was the most surprising entry.. and I do not have anything against her.. yet I must admit here that I can not stand Rakhee Sawant even for a minute.. I am sorry if I have hurt the mother.. but I speak only what is my honest feeling about anyone.. If I were taught to be able to hide my feelings I might have been far too successful man in life.. yet my opinion about Rakhee are purely personal.. I should not display my personal dislikes here.. in that sense I do not revert my words but seek forgiveness from her..

With such a long discourse and so little about the anchor.. that is not fair.. Brother.. If I have understood the concept.. probably today's was the biggest occasion for you after the great success of KBC.. To be honest.. to be truthful.. the charisma of Kaun Banega Crorepati was missing.. you did use good Hindi.. you did present the participants in best possible manner.. yet one can not put the two programs in the same category...

KBC was also some eight to nine years back and you looked magnificent at that age.. in fact at that time your French beard had suited you most.. you looked so very similar in confidence to what you had always been known to be in some of the movies of 70s.. This Big Boss is your second phase of Television.. and comparisons with the first stint are bound to happen.. people would not take note of the fact that you were less than sixty then.. a working age in Government of India.. and now you are well past that.. Still you do pass with some distinction.. You may find the eighty four days as the most enjoyable time.. but please do something that we too enjoy your contributions to the program..

I think I have covered the program in far too much detail.. if did it is for you and you alone.. I would definitely watch out for Aditi, Shamita and Claudia.. how far can they take the program forward.. I also hope that Ismail bhaai would provide some music to us.. but it seems there are no instruments.. and whatever Big Boss allows could be provided.. let us see how it shapes up.. for me it will be a new experience as I did not see the first two seasons of the program..

The above poem for those like me generally do not ponder over the day that has gone by.. not gone with the wind.. a phrase, I or rather we had used it for almost any situation at the slightest excuse.. the same way as some people now use gone for a toss..

The weather has been quite rough.. and if it did show up so at Amby Valley it is not a surprise.. the unit and its commitment is commendable to say the least.. what is not understandable is the surprise over the growth of these extra smart techs.. it must have all happened under your nose.. maybe it was for a very short while that you were not into films.. it could not have happened in a spur of a moment.. it is evolution and evolution sometimes is not noticed by the ones who are constantly in touch.. it seems to them that this has been exactly as it seems to be.. yet in the retrospective.. like what you do today.. one realizes the considerable progress that has been made..

Progress has also been made in Television by leaps and bounds.. the entertainment has kept us engrossed and engaged.. sometimes at the cost of our own real development.. this is no complain.. yet when I see and find that children who should be spending time in the ground developing skills in some outdoor activities are glued to their TV and computer set.. they say excess of everything is bad..

In my case, I do not rate Indian television in its present state of functioning as something likable.. I would at times only put on the sports events or at best some times (in distant past) have a look at the National geographic and or Discovery.. Cricket alone was the game that I followed for last ten years or so.. though I know there were times when I used to watch all the Tennis grand slam Tennis events.. How this change of mind took place.. why did it happen is not an easy task for me to answer.. yet at this stage of life.. I find TV as boring.. even news channels do not hold much of my interest.. Instead I would find some time to watch old black and whites over DVD player.. that is to say when I get time..

Yet it was not always like this.. there were times when Television was highly interesting.. we used to que up to find our way into the neighborhood to see chitrahaar or the sunday movie.. it probably means that something that is not readily available interests human mind.. Amitabh Bachchan movies are available in plenty at TV at all the time.. it has two fold negative implications - a person like me does not watch his movies on Television.. the other not true for me.. there would not be many who would now like to keep the DVDs of AB movies in their collection.. the third less obvious drawback a few may start hating someone they had held in such high esteem over the years.. think over it and think of these lines ..

I think the number of times I have used the phrase some one like sis Rose would have also got to read it if not know its meaning..

These are times that one has to keep oneself as updated as is possible.. the changes around us are happening at such a rapid rate that it is difficult if not impossible to keep a track of all development and progress.. at times it is not required to know everything.. some of the things become part of our lives without our great understanding.. email in the first phase and internet browsing in second phase have revolutionized our lives like never before.. yet does an average common Indian has an access to it.. does every child of India know how a computer looks like to touch it.. There are issues that India faces that have been buried into history.. the vertical growth of our cities and uneven horizontal availability of facilities in the rural atmosphere could be catastrophic... the deaths of Indian farmers would continue amidst the Chandrayaan success.. lack of school and education for the poor would be always present alongside people going to US, Australia and UK.. the rich shall continue to get richer even if poor do not get further poorer..

Oh my God.. I wanted to sound to be on a happy note.. but where has my mind taken me.. these reactions and remarks if they sound political to some.. I seldom care.. if these objections do not please the readers of this blog.. I do not stop saying what I have to.. if we have to proceed as a nations there have to be some binding forces.. there needs to be some rethinking on our part to move alongside our deprived lot than to become an Ambani or the sort..

The kind of flood like situation in the country is not a new to us.. it may not have been a regular feature yet it has been there in the history.. with all our development and scientific progress what kind of program have we evolved over the years.. History is important to let us know or learn things from our past and act as help to move forward by not repeating the mistakes of past.. does that happen in this country.. I wonder if it does.. it must be at such a miniscule scale that it is not visible to a short-sighted Abhaya Sharma.. and what has Abhaya Sharma done.. has he also not happily toed the line of the masses.. that is he not following the bhed chaal too.. just write about the issues and just do nothing about solutions.. I hate this Abhaya Sharma as much as I hate being ignorant of our surroundings.. ankh band kar lene se billi kabootar ko chhod nahi degi.. hum sab us kabootar ki tarah hain.. jo azaa hokar bas udana jaanate hain.. billi saamne aa jaye to ankhen moond kar sochate hai ki billi to hai hi nahi..

I think it has been enough of the activist in me to have voiced his opinion.. some of it may be useful.. some of it may be not so useful and some part may not be useful at all..

I take leave of you.. I have an appointment with Big Boss at 9 PM tonight.. I would like you to be evolutionary.. I would like you to be think beyond fixed lines.. I would also like you to work on the concepts of nation building .. I would be more than happy if you could say a few things regarding peace harmony and brotherhood.. I know you are still a huge force who has a power to turn any nation into any direction simply with your words.. you are a rationalist.. you are respected and you are revered.. the three R's for the success of a celebrity..
